The Dream Dragoness

During their walk home Eirlys told her mother all that had happened in the last three years, starting from when she got lost to before her proposal. "The dragons there were very nice to me. They treated me like a princess." She finished.
Statica smiled and said "I am glad that you were taken care of. It could have been much worse."
"I know, and I am thankful that Prince Tundra rescued me. If it wasn't for him it would've been much worse."
"You mean that prince was the one that saved you?" Statica asked. After Eirlys nodded in reply Statica added "then I owe him a lot for saving you."
"I sure hope so." Eirlys whispered to herself. "I did miss you guys every day though, every night I would dream about you and dad. Wait, where is dad?
"He's, busy right now. We can surprise him when we get home." Statica answered.
Eirlys smiled and hugged her mother again. "I missed you so much mom!"
"I missed you too my child." Statica replied with a nuzzle.
"Eirlys? Is that you?!" A voice asked from behind them, causing Eirlys to jump in surprise.
She turned her head to see her old friend Blazelight standing twenty feet away with Dash floating over her head. "Blazelight!" she shouted before running towards them.
The two friends reunited with a hug, followed by Blazelight asking "I can't believe it, you're back! Where have you been these last three years?"
"It's a long story that I will tell you with Granite and Phoenus. Where are they?" Eirlys replied.
A frown came upon Blazelight's face as she said "Granite's here, but..."
"Phoenus ran away a few days ago." Dash finished with a frown on his face as well.
Eirlys, too, began to frown. "What? Why?" she asked.
"Long story short it was because of Stone." Blazelight answered.
Eirlys growled and said "now I really, really hate him!"
"You aren't the only one." Dash added.
"Well, we will talk more about it later, right now I need to go home, see you guys later!" Eirlys told them as she turned and ran back to her waiting mom.
"See you later Eirlys!" Blazelight replied. "Come on Dash, we need to go tell Granite!"
Eirlys continued following her mother back to their home, all the while Statica was now telling Eirlys of all that had happened to the city in the last three years, all except for her younger brother. She stopped after telling her about the earth dragons attacking, for they had arrived at their house. The memories of her first seven years flooded back into her mind, from playing with her parents to learning her element to even every time Granite and Blazelight came over for the night. "Welcome home Eirlys." Statica said as they climbed up the steps.
When she opened the door and entered her house she saw that everything was the same as it was three years before. She looked over everything to get a feel for her surroundings again. She was so focused on the room she jumped when someone from the kitchen say "back so soon Statica? I would have thought Flame would have more for you to do."
She recognized that as her father immediately. She walked into the kitchen and sure enough a white and blue dragon was standing with his back to her, preparing what smelled like dinner. After taking a deep breath Eirlys walked closer and waited for him to turn around. Soon enough he picked up the tray of food with his right claw and turned to deliver it to Statica, but when he spotted Eirlys sitting in the doorway his eyes went wide and he dropped the food onto the floor. "Hi dad." she had managed to say.
At first Glacier just stared at Eirlys in disbelief, but after realizing he was not hallucinating again he walked closer to her and fell to the ground to her. Tears were already falling down his cheek as he cried "Eirlys! My daughter, you are home!"
Eirlys hugged him back, trying to comfort him. "I'm sorry I left dad, I really missed you." She whispered.
"Where have you been? Your mother and I thought you ere kidnapped!"
"It is such a long story, I don't even... who is that?"
She was pointing at a young yellow and blue dragon sniffing at the dropped meal. Glacier smiled and said "that is your brother, Thunor."
Now it was Eirlys' turn to be shocked. "My... brother?"
"Yes, I found out I was pregnant with him shortly after you had disappeared." Statica told her.
Eirlys let go of her father and walked up to her brother, whom was still too busy eating the food to notice her, until she had tapped him on the shoulder. He looked up at her and their eyes met, studying each other. After a minute Thunor smiled at her then continued eating the dropped food. Eirlys looked back at her parents with a confused look on her face before Glacier said "don't worry, that means he likes you. Just wait until after he's done eating, he'll want to play until morning."
Eirlys nodded and walked back to her parents and hugged them both at the same time. After a minute they let go and Eirlys announced "there is something I have wanted to tell both of you ever since I returned, something amazing that happened to me in Pyry."
"What is it dear?" Statica asked.
She paused for a minute to take a deep breath before announcing "I'm engaged!" The smiles disappeared from her parents faces quickly after her announcement and were replaced by frowns, which caught Eirlys off guard. She had expected them to be happy for her. "Mom, dad, are you guys alright?" she asked.
They both looked at one another with the same confused face, as if asking each other what they should say. They looked back at Eirlys and Glacier asked "you... you are?"
Eirlys nodded and said "yes, to Prince Tundra."
Statica's eyes widened with shock. "You mean the one that Glacia introduced to me?" she asked. After Eirlys nodded again she said "I can't believe this! We just got you back and yet we are going to lose you again!"
"Mom, you aren't going to lose me."
"You don't understand Eirlys, since he is a prince his duties to his kingdom will keep him in Pyry, and when you get married to him you are bound to stay with him the rest of your life." Glacier told her.
Eirlys' heart sank, she never thought about it this way. She loved Tundra but also loved her parents and did not want to lose any of them. Before anything else could said there was a knock at the door. Glacier walked towards the door and opened it to see his sister Glacia standing outside with two other blue dragons. "Glacia! Welcome home!" he said.
"It's good to be home brother." she replied with a quick hug. "I assume you like what I brought back for you?"
"Yes, thank you so much!"
"Of course, but I also brought back something for me as well." Glacia said. She placed her left wing on the dragon next to her and announced "this is my mate, Murghus."
Glaciers eyes yet again widened with shock. "You... you found a mate?!" he finally was able to say. After both Glacia and Murghus nodded a smile swept across Glacier's face. "This is wonderful news! I am so happy for you! When is the wedding?"
"We wanted it to be soon, we already sent a messenger dragon to get your parents." Murghus answered.
"That's great! What about your parents?"
Murghus bowed his head in sadness. "I do not have any parents. They were killed by Demetrius when I was very young." he answered.
"Oh my, I'm so sorry. I know from experience what Demetrius is like." Glacier said, looking at his scars from ten years ago.
"It's alright brother, it is all in the past, I have moved on." Murghus told him.
Glacier nodded and said "please, come in."
The three ice dragons walked into the house and into the kitchen where Statica and Eirlys were waiting. "Hello Statica, enjoying your time with your daughter?" Glacia asked.
"Yes, very much. I assume you are enjoying your time with your mate as well?"
Glacia nodded and said "yes, we just walked around the city a bit."
"I must say that Warfang is amazing! Even Pyry doesn't stand a chance against its beauty!" Murghus told them.
"But from what I have heard Pyry is a beautiful place." Glacier said.
Murghus nodded before answering with "it is, but it's all ice. Warfang has everything! Fire, electricity, earth, water, everything!"
"I guess that is true. In each of the kingdoms only one element can thrive inside the cities." Statica thought out loud.
Glacia looked down at the young blue and purple dragon next to her. "Prince Tundra here was anxious to meet you two, he wanted to meet the parents of his future mate."
Glacier looked at the prince and asked "so you are the one that proposed to my daughter?"
"Yes, I am Tundra. It is nice to finally meet you. Eirlys talked a lot about you guys over the last three years." He replied with an extended paw.
Glacier reluctantly shook the young dragons paw and said "nice to meet you too. Forgive me for not having any food prepared, little Thunor here ate all of it."
The stuffed dragon looked up at the adults and smiled innocently, making everyone else chuckle. "It's quite alright, we have already eaten. Glacia took us to one of the best restaurants in the city." Murghus told him.
"Only the best for my mate." Glacia said, followed shortly with a kiss from Murghus.
Glacier smiled at the sight of his twin sister finally happy again. They all moved into the living room and sat down in a circle with everyone next to their mates, except for Thunor whom was fast asleep next to Statica. After Glacia finished telling Glacier and Statica about her trip to Pyry and how she and Murghus met Statica said "wow, that is so romantic!"
"And I couldn't have asked for a better dragon to share it with." Glacia added.
"I just hope Alexis will take it alright." Murghus said with a sigh.
"Who's Alexis?" Glacier asked.
"A dragoness that has been madly in love with me for many years. She even thinks that I agreed to be mates with her when I never did."
"Oh my, I hope she doesn't try anything to separate you two."
"Nothing can take me away from Glacia's side!" Murghus stated with a kiss.
"Very good, that's what true love is like." Statica said, nuzzling her mate.
After the nuzzle Glacier looked at the ice prince and asked "Tundra, may I see you in the kitchen for a minute?"
"Certainly." Tundra replied.
Once Glacier was already in the kitchen Tundra got up but was stopped by Eirlys' paw. "Good luck." She told him.
Tundra nodded and kissed her cheek before walking into the kitchen. Once he was in Glacier shut the door and Tundra asked "is there something you wanted to talk about?"
"Yeah, just as a dragon to dragon talk." Glacier answered. After he sat back down in front of Tundra he asked "how was it that my daughter ended up all the way in Pyry?"
"I was with my guard exploring a forest one day when I spotted her. She was weak and needed help, I couldn't have left her there." Tundra answered.
"I see, then I am thankful that you found her, but not so much that you kept her in Pyry."
Tundra was about to tell him what Eirlys had told him three years ago but instead decided to say "I am sorry, but I loved her from the moment I saw her. I was afraid I would never see her again."
"And you must understand that I am in that position now. Since you are the prince your duties to your kingdom come first, and if Eirlys is your queen she will have to remain at your side. If I let her get married to you I will never get to see her again."
The ice prince bowed his head in sadness, he knew where this was going. "I understand, I won't take your daughter away from you any more than I have already. Please forgive me…"
Glacier interrupted him with a chuckle and said "but what kind of a father would I be if I took my daughter away from the dragon she loves?"
Tundra looked in shock at the ice dragon. "But, you just said…"
"I know, but it doesn't mean I will force her to stay. It is her decision to stay with you or not, all I want is for her to be safe and happy."
A smile swept across Tundra's face as he said "thank you, Mr. Glacier, and I promise to do anything I can to allow Eirlys to visit whenever she wants to."
The adult ice dragon patted Tundra's head and told him "please, call me dad."
"Thank you, dad."
Glacier nodded and opened the door to let Tundra walk out while he remained in the kitchen. He sat there for several minutes, rubbing his head every now and then, until the door opened again, letting his mate walk in. She sat next to him and said with a smile "Tundra told us your answer."
"That was possibly the hardest thing I had to do. I would have rather gone through Demetrius' tortures a thousand times than let her go." He told her.
Statica nodded and added "but it was the right thing to do."
Glacier smiled and gave her a kiss. "That's what I love about you, you always know how to cheer me up."
His mate giggled before kissing him again followed by a hug.

Spyro had left the house again to clear his mind and allow Cynder to sleep again. He walked to Warfangs main wall, facing towards the valley of Avalar, and sat down, looking over the horizon. He closed his eyes and focused his light powers to try to soothe his mind and heart, but the image of his son working for that monster continued to appear in his mind. He eventually just shook it off and looked over the field. "Ready to talk yet?" a voice asked from his left.
He looked and saw his cousin Flame sitting next to him, a worried look over his face. "Flame? When did you get here?" Spyro asked.
"While you were meditating. I wanted to talk with you but I didn't want to ruin the meditation, so I waited. What's up?"
Spyro sighed and replied with "my son, has released Demetrius."
Flames eyebrows shot up in surprise. "Oh my, that's not good! How do you know this?"
"I fought him."
"Demetrius?"
"Yes, and my son. He's his new apprentice." Spyro answered, his head falling again, holding back the tears.
Flame shook his head in disbelief. "He was such a good boy. I can't believe he did that!"
"He thinks he's getting help to stop his spasms forever, but doesn't realize the cost."
"Did you try to bring him back?"
"Yes, but he resisted, then Demetrius got in the way. I almost defeated Demetrius again but before I could finish him off again Phoenus attacked me. I could not fight him Flame! He's my son!"
"I understand Spyro, no one can live themselves if they had to do that."
"All I could manage to do was bring back those dragons, they were attempting to escape Demetrius' clutches when I arrived."
"So it wasn't completely a loss. You saved many dragons from suffering!"
"But I only wanted one other dragon with them."
"I can understand that, but what can you do? Phoenus made his choice, and you may not like it but you will have to deal with it for now and move on. If it's in the ancestors will he will return someday and everything will be normal again. You'll see."
The purple dragon looked up at his cousin with as much of a smile as he could force. "Thanks Flame, I really needed that."
"Of course Spyro, anything for…"
"Master Flame!" Blink shouted from his tower.
Flame looked up at the mole and asked "what is it Blink?"
"The cheetah villagers are approaching!" he answered.
"Hunter? Why's his entire village coming?" Spyro asked as he looked over the ledge for them.
"I do not know, I hope everyone's alright."
Spyro and Flame flew down to the gate and awaited the villagers' arrival. Within minutes the first cheetah made it to the gate, it was Katrina walking on a stick. "Katrina, what happened to you?" Spyro asked.
"We were attacked last night." She answered weakly.
"What?! By who?" Flame asked.
Another cheetah walked up next to Katrina with several burn marks on his fur and answered "a dragon. He came out of nowhere before everyone had woken up. We never got a good look at him, he covered the area with this black fire pretty quickly. What I did manage to see though was that he had a blindfold on him. But that was when…"
"When what?" Spyro asked.
Katrina patted the cheetah on the shoulder and said "he killed chief Prowles, his father."
Spyro's heart sank, he had known of Prowles ever since he met Hunter, and even though they were off to a bad start they had become great friends. "I'm so sorry, he was a noble leader and a true warrior. He will be missed." Spyro said with a paw on Slash's shoulder.
"Thank you, Spyro, but right now is not the time to mourn for him. My father would have wanted me to ensure the safety of the villagers before anything else. I bring them here and beg of you to take us in and…"
"Of course we will Slash. Your village is always welcome here. We will gladly find everyone a home." Flame interrupted.
The entire village cheered as they were led into the city by the fire guardian. Katrina and Slash stayed back to make sure everyone else had made it in safely. Spyro walked next to them and asked "where's Hunter? I didn't see him in the group."
"My father said he would catch up, said he had some thing to take care of first." Katrina answered as she swung her bow over her shoulders.
"Good, at least he wasn't hurt as well." Spyro sighed in relief.
"It is strange though, the dragon fought perfectly even with a blindfold over his eyes, how could he have done it?" Slash thought out loud.
"It baffles me as well. I have the exception with my light powers to fight blindly but never would I think another could do that!" Spyro told him.
"Well, all I know is that if I see that dragon again my father's sword is going straight through his chest!" Slash swore.
"Just don't go off and kill yourself, we need you as a leader now." Katrina told him.
"I know, I won't." he said, grabbing her paw in his. "I promise."
Katrina smiled and said "good, because you know how terrible I am at being a leader, which is what I would be if you got hurt!"
Slash chuckled and followed Spyro with Katrina to a place they could both sleep.

The young red dragon fell to the floor yet again to the strength of his foe.  The much older back and white dragon looked down at him, stating "when facing a foe three times your size you must use your mind to find ways to defeat them! You cannot just flat out charge at them, you must think!"
Phoenus tried lifting himself off of the ground but collapsed from the amount of pain in his still healing legs. "Alright Leonidus, that's enough…" he began.
Before Phoenus could finish his sentence Leonidus struck him with his tail, sending him into the wall. "It is not over until I say it is!" he barked at him.
Phoenus fell to the ground, his whole body now in pain. Not wanting him to strike him again Phoenus got up again and circled around Leonidus the best he could, looking for an opening. Spotting none Phoenus lunged up at him again, but only got the same result as the other many attempts. Leonidus' claw came up to stop the attack, but Phoenus shot fire at it and landed on Leonidus' face and started scratching furiously. Without hesitating Leonidus grabbed and threw Phoenus back onto the ground, where he stayed. "Great job Phoenus, you may make a warrior after all!" Demetrius told him. "That's enough for today Leonidus, we will continue this tomorrow."
"Yes master." Leonidus replied with a bow before picking up the fast asleep Rachelle and walking off to his room.
Demetrius made his way to his new apprentice and said "you really impressed me today young dragon. Your ability to control the elements is outstanding!"
Still breathing heavily and on the ground Phoenus replied "thank you… master. When will I get to learn…"
"Darkness? That element requires a lot of physical and mental strength, and with you already being in great shape I would say only a couple of years."
"What?! A few years?! I am ready now!" Phoenus protested.
"No, it is too powerful and you are too young, but you will be able to use the power of shadow soon, which is the most basic darkness power and is easy to control. But for now go and rest." Demetrius ordered before walking out, leaving the still hurting red dragon on the floor.
After a few minutes of laying there Phoenus was able to lift up his body and walk out of the training dojo. He continued walking until he found his room, where he limped over and flopped onto his bed, falling asleep instantly. So far during his stay with Demetrius night time was his favorite. It was the only time he could let all of his emotions out and think about whatever he wanted to. His dreams led him to anywhere he desired, and as of late all he wanted to think about was Granite.
In his dream he was several years older and twice as big as he was now. Laying down next to him was none other than Granite, the only dragoness he ever had, and will, love. They were laying together in a small house, his right wing was keeping her close to him. After a few minutes of nuzzling Granite pulled her wing back, revealing a red egg with green marks around it.
"That must be quite the dream." A voice echoed inside his head.
Phoenus' dream world went black as he looked around for the source of that voice. "Who are you?" he asked.
He jumped as a grey dragoness appeared in front of him. She had white horns and blue eyes with many scars covering her body. "If you like what you were dreaming of then why not go back to Warfang where you can live this happy life?" she asked him.
Phoenus just growled and answered "I cannot! After all of the pain she has suffered because of me, she deserves much better than me."
"You and I both know that's not true. You were the only dragon she will ever love, even with your curse! Did she not prove it when she flew after you? She is willing to be with you, to comfort you when you suffer." The dragoness continued.
"I do not want her to be there! All that will happen to her is pain, and if she's hurt then I will be too, no matter how bad the spasms hurt me!" He snapped at her. "Who are you anyways?"
"I am Spyroena, I have been sent by the ancestors to keep an eye on you." She answered.
"Tell them thanks for caring but I don't need my own guardian. I can take care of myself." Phoenus replied, trying to find a way out of the dream.
"Nice try, but you won't get rid of me that easily. My job is not to protect your physical form, but to protect your mind. Every time you fall asleep it will be my job to remind you why you are really using the darkness for and not let the cause disappear."
"What do you mean?  I will never forget about Granite!"
"You say that now, but may I inform you that Malefor was once in your same position? He loved his mate, Karyma, but when she was killed because of his actions he had completely forgotten about her. My point is that as time passes the darkness will consume your thoughts and the memories of her will fade, Phoenus."
Phoenus' head dropped as she told him this. "I will not allow that to happen to me!" he told her.
Spyroena smiled and said "very good, and I will be here to help you with that." She lifted up his chin so that he was looking her in the eyes before continuing. "Do not be afraid young one. You will be back with Granite again in this lifetime, just have faith. Now, go and dream about her, and never forget her."
He couldn't help but smile at his new friend. "Thank you Spyroena, thank you for doing this."
"It is my pleasure young one." She said before giving him a hug.
She dissolved away and the last scene that Phoenus was in reappeared. He nuzzled the dream Granite and said "I will never forget, never ever."

Darkness had covered the land, only the moon gave out light for the two dragons flying over the vast desert. Adrian kept an eye out for the entrance to Volos, being careful not to pass over it. "You know the drill, right?" he asked Alexis without even looking at her. Alexis was too caught up in her thoughts to realize the earth dragon talking to her. "Alexis?"
"Hmm?" she replied after coming back to reality.
"Do you remember the plan?" he asked again.
"Yes, of course I do." She answered.
"Good, because we don't want to ruin the chance of saving Pyry. Remember, only speak when spoken to."
"I know Adrian, I know."
"Alright, here we are!" he said before diving at the sand.
She followed him closely into a giant hole that had appeared on the ground in front of them. After going through some tunnels she gasped in amazement as they arrived in a gigantic underground city. It was very similar to Pyry but was made of stone. Adrian led her into the castle and straight to the throne room. Inside it sat two earth dragons, one with along white beard and the other a tree on his back. "Ah, Adrian, you have returned. Were you successful?" the bearded dragon asked.
"I was, your majesty. The ice queen has agreed to join us when we require it." He answered with a bow.
"Excellent! We are one step closer to our goals! Who is this that you have brought with you?"
"This is lady Alexis, she is close to the queen and was sent to legalize our treaty."
"Really? So you have been sent by queen Krystal?" the earth king asked Alexis.
"Y… yes, I was." She stuttered in reply.
"Good, then I won't have to destroy the city after all. I need you to go back and request that the queen sign this herself." Silas told them.
Alexis was looking at the ground, her thoughts on Murghus and how he had betrayed her for the ice guardian. Tears fell from her face as she said "I can't! This is all a lie! The queen already swore allegiances with Warfang!"
The three earth dragons looked at her in shock. Adrian slapped his paw into his face, whispering "I knew it!"
"Is this true Adrian?" the earth king asked him. When Adrian did not reply he said "I cannot believe you would do this to me, after all I gave you!"
"I will not allow your thoughts crush the lives of many! Pyry included!"
"The only thing that will be crushed is your head! Boulder, take him away!"
Boulder got up to obey but Adrian knocked him over and ran for the door, only to be tackled by Alexis. "What are you doing Alexis?! You are…"
"Getting revenge on the one that betrayed me!" she finished.
Before anymore could be said from Adrian Boulder had recovered and knocked him out with a punch to his head. "Pathetic dragon, to think he thought he could save the weaklings." He sighed as he looked over the unconscious dragon.
"Take him away, I will deal with him later." Silas ordered. Once Boulder was gone with Adrian he turned to Alexis and asked "tell me, have you ever heard of the Ice Golem?
Eirlys has a short reunion with her best friend Blazelight before reuniting with her father. It seems like Glacier took the news of her engagement well, I probably woul be more hesitant to let my daughter go (f i had one).

Why do i get the feeling that Phoenus is going to use the darkness element to save everyone?
